Durant signed a two-year contract with a player option with the Warriors in 2016 after nine seasons spent with the Oklahoma City Thunder franchise. The question is now, what can we expect? Is that the reason why he joined Steph Curry and Klay Thompson or perhaps he wanted to give himself the best shot of winning and National Basketball Association ring?
And unlike the Warriors squad that blew a 3-1 Finals lead previous year after a record-setting 73-9 regular season, this version of the team is even more unsafe after adding former league MVP and four-time scoring champion Kevin Durant.
The eve of the NBA Finals and we are where we thought we would be. If that is the case, what is the reason to watch if you aren't a Warriors or Cavs fan? "So that's the most important thing, but individually, just work on my game, like I said, approach the game like I always do, and we'll see what happens".
Game 1 is Thursday at Oracle Arena, where the Cavaliers won their first championship a year ago by becoming the first team to rally from a 3-1 deficit in the finals. I think our team was the most poised previous year.
If he fails to win with this team, the social media mockery will be plentiful and likely non-stop throughout the rest of the offseason. And though Golden State looks better and hungrier this year, the Cavs boast the one reason to think they could find a way again this year.
So yeah, this series a big deal. They have been good defensively for a couple of years and have paid attention to this all season long.
The Warriors don't have the best player.
"And not that, not the suspension, like I said, the lessons that the suspension taught me". There was Golden State winning its first title since 1975 when the Warriors bested a short-handed Cavaliers squad missing Irving and Kevin Love on Cleveland's home court in 2015. Cleveland will have to slow down a team that has been clobbering teams by 16.3 points per game in the postseason.
Combined Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State are entering this clash with the best post season record ever. "I did everything possible to put myself in a position to feel at least as close to 80 percent, or as close to 90 percent as I could going into that game, knowing the possibility that I could further injure my knee".
The 2017 Western Conference Finals featured both the one seed and two seed in Golden State and San Antonio respectively.
Let's remember the history of sports with the help of eras marked according to who dominated the game at the time.
