"Trump understands the connection between Jews and Jerusalem and that peace will not be achieved by creating a Palestinian state in the heart of Israel", hard-line Israeli minister Naftali Bennett told Israeli army radio Wednesday.
Trump received a warm welcome in Tel Aviv after becoming the first USA president to include Israel on his maiden overseas trip.
Trump, for his part, stressed the need to forge a historic peace deal, without mentioning any reference to the two-state solution or to an independent Palestinian state. Netanyahu had a frosty relationship with former U.S. President Barack Obama, but has lavished praise on Trump throughout his visit.
"He put a lot of pressure on them that it's time to get to the table and he has made the point several times: we solve the Israeli-Palestinian peace dilemma, we start solving a lot of the peace throughout the Middle East region". "I look forward to working with these leaders towards a lasting peace". The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the Monday blast, which also left 59 people wounded, though a top American intelligence official said the claim could not be verified. Abbas's Fatah party is at sharp odds with the Hamas, which is in power in Gaza, leaving no unified Palestinian position on peace. No previous USA president, no matter how pro-Israel, had dared to confer legitimacy in this way upon Israel's occupation of the land it conquered in the 1967 Six-Day War. The former USA administration of Barack Obama was deeply opposed to Israel's expansion of the settlements and in December withheld its veto from a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning the policy. The problem is not between us and Judaism. They're losers. And we'll have more of them.
The Palestinian president raised the issue of Palestinian detainees, who have been holding a hunger strike for more than a month. And everywhere, all across Palestine, families, mothers of prisoners, suffer from being denied visits to their children. "I demand the Israeli government to meet these humane, legitimate demands", he said. "I intend to do everything I can to help achieve that goal". When the USA leader met his Palestinian counterpart, Mahmoud Abbas, he spoke about being committed to peace in general terms, but didn't use the phrase "two-state solution" - the code-word for a peace deal that would involve a Palestinian state. They said if Trump managed to convince each side to call the other's bluff for long enough, he might just end up making significant progress toward peace.
The video appears to show Trump push aside the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dusko Markovic.
Addressing U.S. troops Saturday at a Sicilian air base moments before departing for Washington, Trump himself declared: "I think we hit a home run".
"It is unshakable. It remains despite the changes in administration and changes in policy we've seen since Harry Truman, every USA president, every congress, we've seen that the relationship with Israel only grows stronger", Beigelman said.
"Muslim nations must be willing to take on the burden, if we are going to defeat terrorism and send its wicked ideology into oblivion".
He arrived with a message that the Arab leaders he met in Riyadh were optimistic about peace.
