A HOUSE of Representatives member, Garba Durbunde (representing Takai/Sumaila Federal Constituency), who was reportedly kidnapped at about 5pm yesterday, has been released.
"He has been released unhurt and is with his family", Namdas said.
It was reported that the legislator paid a ransom before his release.
Meanwhile, Kano state governor Abdullahi Ganduje has condemned the act.
"Honorable Garba Durbunde was kidnapped on Tuesday", Tunde Adela, his legislative aide, told journalists in the capital Abuja.
"I can confirm to you that Honourable Durbunde is nowhere to be found at the moment", he said.
The statement issued by the governor denouncing the alleged kidnap of the lawmaker frown at the incident, describing it as "unfortunate". Durbunde is nowhere to be found, we believe it's kidnappers that abducted him.
He had served as a commissioner in the administration of Rabiu Kwakwanso, former governor of Kano. "We are yet to establish his whereabouts or get clue about his abductors, but we have informed all the relevant security agencies about the incident", he said.
