James' house vandalized on eve of Finals

"Any time someone beats you, you'd love to play them", Green said.

Now, with the addition of a former MVP in Kevin Durant, the pressure on the Warriors to win a title is perhaps more suffocating this season than last, especially after blowing a 3-1 lead. Now the Cavs have nowhere to hide.

The Cavs watched clips from Game 7 in their preparation for Thursday's Game 1. On the other hand, LeBron James is playing some of the best basketball of his career this postseason, and has been accompanied by Kyrie Irving and the rejuvenated Kevin Love in catalyzing Cleveland's tear through the Eastern Conference. James has the height and speed to hang with Durant on drives, and the strength to prevent Durant from posting up. "Try to take him out of spots where he's comfortable. We have to be ready to compete and play and leave it all on the floor".

Guarding Durant wouldn't just pull James away from the action, however.

That's the difference between Durant's Warriors and that of super teams past. James, the three-time National Basketball Association champion, is an African American.

The leading men, of course, are Kevin Durant and Steph Curry for Golden State and LeBron James for Cleveland.

Green was suspended after being assessed a Flagrant-1 foul for what was called a "retaliatory swipe" to LeBron James after the two tangled on the court and James stepped over Green. "It might just take a half of basketball to get it going".

"I have bad games, but it's just a matter of me just trying to be the best me I can be, go out there and work extremely hard on my game and try to showcase it".

But Tristan Thompson isn't into nostalgia. "And can you hang in that alignment?" That's up from last year's numbers of Golden State minus-210 and Cleveland plus-180, and implies slightly more than a 70 percent chance that the Warriors will avenge their defeat. Barnes faulted down the stretch, shooting just 35% from the field and 31% from three. The Cavs won Games 5 and 7 there past year. It made him less likable.

The Warriors picked Curry, who despite averaging 17.5 points per game as a rookie, drew doubts as to whether he was durable enough to be a star after injuries forced him out of all but 26 games in his third season. Who knows what the difference would be if each shot closer to his season average? He shot 37.3 percent on three-pointers and a career-high 87 percent from the line. In the playoffs, however, Green is shooting 47% from three. There simply is too much firepower. And do you think it's ultimately good for them to take on a bit stronger of an attitude?

"I don't want to feel what I felt a year ago, and to do everything in my power to attack every game with that kind of perspective".

Curry hasn't been at his best in the last two Finals series, but his scorching form during the playoffs and most importantly his clean bill of health puts him in the flawless position to take centre stage come Friday.

The best defensive weapon against the Warriors has always been to pick your poison and hope for the best.

Though James and Irving will get theirs against the Warriors' stellar defense, collectively their efforts will fall short to help Cleveland hoist another Larry O'Brien trophy.

James and Irving should have no problem getting to the rim against Golden State, and Thompson should dominate the boards.
