'Covfefe'? It's a message to the Russians, quips Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton has a hunch about Donald Trump's mysterious tweet, "covfefe". She lost the election because the Russians and certain "forces in this country" conspired to deprive her of election victory. Clinton defended her speeches to the investment bank, citing speeches to a "wide range of groups", and she defended the bank itself.

Her comments sparked outrage from many on Twitter, including President Donald Trump, who said Clinton "refuses to say she was a bad candidate".

Just under an hour later, Clinton responded, "People in covfefe houses shouldn't throw covfefe".

Clinton said that in targeting voters online, she was at a disadvantage to Trump because the Republican Party provided him with an extensive database, through an organisation called the Data Trust, that Democrats did not have.

Speaking at a tech conference in California's Silicon Valley, the former Secretary of State received huge applause as she made a series of stark claims - including her belief that the "vast majority" of news about her on Facebook was fake.

"The claims of Donald Trump's and members' of his team alleged ties with Russian Federation are constantly being spread in the United States information space".

"It was a mistake".

"I take responsibility for every decision I make - but that's not why I lost". "And obviously, if I could turn the clock back, I wouldn't have done it in the first place".

Trump brought up the server regularly on the campaign trail.

The list so far also includes the FBI, former FBI Director James Comey, people who assumed she'd win, the Democratic National Committee, the New York Times and fake Macedonian news sites.

"Remember, Comey was more than happy to talk about my emails, but he wouldn't talk about the investigation of the Russians. I always thought it was going to be a close election". The timing, she said, suggests the document dump was guided by someone in the USA seeking to blunt the backlash against Trump's comments. However, the president later said the Russian Federation investigation played a role.

Asked who those persons could be, Clinton said, "We're getting more information about all of the contacts between Trump campaign officials and Trump associates with Russians before, during and after the election". "I think it's pretty hard not to".

One way in which she thinks the Democratic party can improve before the next election is through the creation of more content that supports its cause.

"Now, so that was the conclusion", Clinton said.

The GOP used a firmer grasp of various forms of media to the advantage of its candidates, she said.
