Two matches were confirmed for the Money in the Bank pay-per-view on this week's episode of SmackDown Live. To book them all in a Money in the Bank ladder match, the very first time women have ever done so in WWE. Naomi, the current Smackdown Women's Champion, would be the current odd woman out.
The team interrupted a segment featuring The Usos, and announced they have been named the #1 contenders to the Smackdown Tag Team Titles. The New Day eventually revealed that they will challenge The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships in three weeks.
Shane made the fight official after the divas attacked each other even before the referee got to ring the bell during the fatal five-way match.
New Day also announced that Shane McMahon had granted the team a title match against the Usos at the June 18 Money in the Bank PPV.
Orton, who reflected on his career and wrestling heritage which includes WWE Hall of Famer "Cowboy" Bob Orton and his grandfather, Bob Orton Sr., promised that he would reclaim his championship in a rematch against Mahal at Money in the Bank.
