Trump Arrives in Israel, Says Israelis, Arabs Share 'Common Cause' Against Iran

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have chose to pour money into a women's entrepreneurship fund run by the World Bank and inspired by Ivanka Trump following her father's visit to the Arab world.

The White House struggled to answer the question. "I think Islam hates us".

From Israel, Trump was heading to Italy for an audience with Pope Francis.

On Sunday, Israel authorised some economic concessions to the Palestinians that a Cabinet statement said "will ease daily civilian life in the Palestinian Authority after (Trump) who arrives tomorrow, asked to see some confidence building steps". And at the end of the trip, as I was getting back on the plane, the security guards from the Saudi side who'd been helping us over the weekend all wanted to pose for a big photo op.

Iranian President Hassan Rohani has criticized a summit of Muslim countries that was attended by U.S. President Donald Trump, calling the meeting in Saudi Arabia a "a show with no meaning".

"Palestinians are ready to reach for peace", Trump said.

Tillerson's candid assessment, made to reporters aboard Air Force One Monday, represents a remarkable turnaround for a presidential candidate who campaigned on a platform that argued for "total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States".

After his meeting with Abbas, Trump returned to Jerusalem for a solemn tribute to the 6 million Jews killed in the Holocaust.

"Most importantly, the United States and Israel can declare with one voice that Iran must never be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon - never, ever - and must cease its deadly funding, training and equipping of terrorists and militias, and it must cease immediately".

Later Monday, Trump will meet with Netanyahu and tour some of Jerusalem's ancient sites, including the Western Wall, an important Jewish holy site, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which is believed to be where Jesus was crucified and the location of his tomb.

Trump, the oldest U.S. President ever elected, deployed demeaning but memorable nicknames to campaign rivals such as "Low-Energy Jeb Bush". "We believe Israel is willing".

As a sign of their personal friendship, Netanyahu frequently referenced Trump by his first name and thanked him for being the first sitting US president to visit the Western Wall. The Israeli leader described his counterpart as a "great friend". During a press briefing Saturday, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson hammered Iran's newly re-elected president for his government's oppressive policies.
