Paul Pogba, world's most expensive footballer, visits Mecca

The world's most expensive footballer Paul Pogba is on pilgrimage to the holiest city of Islam, Mecca days after helping Manchester United to victory in the Europa League final in Stockholm.

In pictures posted on Twitter, Pogba is seen dressed in all white ahead of "umrah", the non-mandatory lesser pilgrimage to Mecca that - unlike Hajj - can be performed at any time of the year.

It is not known whether Pogba will be fasting this month in observance of Ramadan as the 24-year-old has been included in France's latest global squad.

How do footballers fast during Ramadan?

The French worldwide shared a picture of himself in Makkah on Sunday, captioning it the "most attractive thing I've seen in my life".

Following the end of the season, Paul Pogba shared a short video of himself with a suitcase, revealing he was "en route" for his prayers.

The Frenchman played 51 times to help the Red Devils lift the Communited Shield, EFL Cup and Europa League - which allowed them to qualify for next season's Champions League. An obligatory journey for every healthy adult Muslim, who can afford it is supposed to make at least once in their lives.

This also comes the summer after Pogba was bought by United from Juventus for a reported record-setting transfer fee of £89m. See you soon Manchester!
