Memorial Day Traditions to Honor Fallen Heroes

We have to take actions to change how secure we feel about our homeland. We have to invest our hearts, souls and minds in America. There are many events planned across the Twin Cities to pay tribute to our fallen troops.
My Maternal Grandfather had brainwashed me that life becomes meaningful if you attend a funeral for each wedding you attend.
The tradition of Memorial Day observance began after the American Civil War to commemorate the Union and confederate soldiers who died in the civil war.
"It's a normal day for them", said Martens. "To bring our offerings of love and beauty and throw in the waters in memory of the thousands of courageous men of all branches of the armed forces, Navy and Marines who sleep where no loved hand can reach them today". The shared anguish of losing loved ones on foreign battlefields thousands of miles away brought Americans on both sides of the Mason-Dixon line together. Each of the flags that flies over the cemetery is from the casket of a veteran now resting in the park.

She describes visiting the gravesite of her grandfather at Tahoma National Cemetery.
"I think veterans should always be remembered and we should always be grateful for what they did for us", said Nelson. It commemorates 75 years since the North Dakota Guard unit gained fame by supporting U.S. Marines at Guadalcanal in World War II.
"The debt that we owe those who have perished throughout history and their family members who have had to suffer in their absence, can not be fully repaid", he said. Almost 7,000 men and women lost their lives in those theatres. "This victory, as all the others that have preceded it, comes with a cost as we remember the sacrifices that Americans have made, worldwide, in answering the call of freedom".
