Highway Patrol says missing 13-year-old Missouri girl found safe

An Amber Alert issued for a 13-year-old Salem, Missouri girl has been canceled.

Salem is 125 miles southwest of St. Louis, south of Interstate 44 and east of Fort Leonard Wood.

About 7 a.m., the Dent County Sheriff posted to its Facebook page an announcement saying Trinity had been found and was safe.

Trinity Lewis was reportedly abducted about midnight from Salem in Dent County, Missouri.

Deputies say the person who took her may be driving a maroon 2-tone extended cab pickup. She had said she was going to a friend's home but never showed up. The blonde-haired girl was last seen wearing shorts and a shirt with a yellow and white drawstring bag. In addition, police believe the child is in imminent danger of serious bodily injury or death, and authorities have enough of a description of the victim or suspect for the public to help.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
