Bryce Harper-Hunter Strickland Fight Erupts in MLB Brawl

As you could imagine, Harper (and his teammates) had a lot to say about Strickland and the brawl following the game. He will be making his 10th start against San Francisco. "You just try to do the best you can and get out of there and not get crushed by one of their teammates coming in". "This is about the team and moving forward". The Giants had a golden opportunity to run their winning streak to three but the offense never got going in the series opening loss to visiting Washington. He's beyond that, too. Monday was the first time Strickland faced Harper since that NLDS.

Prima facie, I'd venture a guess that Harper is suspended for 15 games, which he will appeal, and it will be knocked down to 10, resulting in a two-week vacation.

'But it looks bad. The 6-foot-4 Strickland hit Harper in the face, then they broke apart for a moment before squaring off again. Was he still thinking about those 2014 home runs? "Now, how do you handle it?" Today's was the first of a three game set in San Francisco. If you're going to throw at someone intentionally, at least come clean about it.

Both players will have the opportunity to appeal their likely forthcoming suspensions and for the Nationals, they're about to be without the leading NL MVP candidate for an unknown amount of time.

"I don't want to go into a baseball game trying to fight somebody, especially when it's in the past, so in the past it's not even relevant anymore", Harper said after the Nationals finished their 3-0 victory.

"I'm just saying, 100 percent: He. No. Doubt. About. It", Knight said.

"Yeah, I can see how that kind of stands in people's minds, but that's the past", Strickland said. "So I'd rather miss in than over the plate".

In what can only be described as an incredibly self-serving and stupid maneuver, Strickland rocketed a 98-mph fastball at Bryce Harper's hip, making contact on the first pitch.

Strickland's argument didn't particularly convince ESPN analyst Eduardo Perez, either, who still maintained that both sides were wrong, but who wasn't easy on Strickland. 'Harper gets hit and you look at a guy who's given up some home runs, and he'll tell you that he was trying to come in. "It was three years ago, over a thousand days". It wasn't like it happened yesterday, it wasn't like it happened in the last postseason.

It's been nearly three years since Bryce bashed those homers, and Strickland hasn't faced him since, hence the assumption that yesterday was about Strickland exacting revenge for. what exactly?

Which is why Knight thought Harper was justified in charging the mound. "A guy's out there, [throwing] a lethal weapon".

Justin Ruggiano got two hits, but was caught stealing on his first. "So I may or may not have been ready for the whole thing". I just don't like to see it held up for two years.

"There's a right way to do it. Well, couldn't get him out, so the only way he could do it".
