Ball may only workout for Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers will get the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, which is a fine return for a shit-filled season of tanking that very almost went up in flames thanks to an inexplicable five-game winning streak at the end of the year. "I wish we would have gotten the No. 1 pick, but we trust the process and it's going to be exciting to see what we're going for". "I didn't know where we were going to land from there, but I was like 'OK, I can breathe now'".

The Celtics got the pick in a swap with the Brooklyn Nets as part of the continuing fallout of a 2013 trade that sent Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry to Brooklyn.

After the lottery ended, Pierce wrote on twitter: "And look what I leave behind for the Celts on my way out #1 pick".

Markelle Fultz, a point guard out of Washington, is another player the Lakers will likely workout, although he is considered the favorite to end up with the Boston Celtics at No.1.

And Danny Ainge is enjoying them both.

After the season that the Phoenix Suns endured, Suns fans were hoping that the tide would turn with a top two pick in the upcoming National Basketball Association draft.

So as a followup, the #1 pick ended in the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers, a playoff team who acquired the pick from a previous trade with the Los Angeles Clippers. Thomas was the last overall pick by the Sacramento Kings in the 2011 draft.

The Dallas Mavericks are ninth and the New Orleans Pelicans are 10th. You have a young person that you can really help mold and grow with. A year ago, Booker invited his friend Jenna Warren to accompany him to the lottery, and this year he took 11-year-old Suns superfan Noah Smith, a Special Olympics athlete.

"We certainly don't have expectations for a No. 1 pick to come in and turn our franchise around and make us a better team than where we are right now in the Final Four".

"Sometimes you need to be patient. I like action", he said. A lot of people want the picks. Just so we're clear, the 2018 draft is thought to be incredibly weak compared to this year's.
