Arsene Wenger Reportedly Agrees To 2-Year Contract Extension

Rivals fans were laughing at Arsenal today after Arsene Wenger verbally agreed a new deal to stay for another two years.

As news breaks of a reported new two-year contract for Wenger, Stewart Robson doesn't shy away from his criticisms.

Tomorrow, the Arsenal board will meeting to review the past season, look to the team's future and, most crucially, determine the future of one Arsene Wenger.

Chelsea went on to lose the FA Cup final as Arsenal denied the Premier League champions a double with a 2-1 victory at Wembley.

The club are also expected to announce whether they are looking into appointing a director of football to work alongside or above Wenger, or indeed whether that role could be filled by the Frenchman.

He said more light would be shed on his situation on Wednesday or Thursday, but there seems little doubt Wenger is still held in high regard by the players.

Wenger will outline his plans for close-season signings and while there may still be some tinkering with his backroom staff it will not be without his approval.

Gazidis had been taking the rap from fans before Wenger went on to win a remarkable seventh FA Cup against Chelsea on Saturday.

After the final, Wenger was once again critical of those Arsenal fans who have been demonstrating against him during matches this season.

"You've got to add up his achievements - the league wins, the cup wins, until this season 20 years in the Champions League".

Indeed, Fabregas only started 13 of Chelsea's 38 Premier League games this season despite performing well whenever called upon by Conte.

Wenger has always insisted that he wants to continue at the Premier League club, which he has managed for over 21 years now.

"A few months later, me and my boys and some other kids, I'd taken them to the park and we're going home". Arsene Wenger is walking to the stadium carrying a box.

"I believe there's a difference between being criticised and being treated in a way that human beings don't deserve", he said. He is the eternal optimist who has never felt Arsenal were far away from recreating a title-winning team, even though the evidence against has piled up before him.
