Arsenal agree £6.8million fee to sign Henry Onyekuru

Arsenal have moved quickly in the transfer market, after Wenger reportedly agreed a two-year-contract extension to remain with the club.

According to Sky Sports News, Arsenal have moved another step closer to signing the 19-year-old after activating his buy-out clause, which stands at £6.8m.

He revealed that his ambition to make the move to the Emirates came from the fact that his idol while growing up was Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry.

NAIJ.com understands that he is now away on global duty for the Nigerian national team as they are set to face the Hawks of Togo in an upcoming friendly on Thursday, June 1.

The Nigerian International is a huge talent but he's nowhere near Sanchez's level so I personally think Wenger is buying Onyekuru as a replacement for Perez - if these reports are accurate.

After a successful season in the Belgium first division, Onyekuru finished as one of the top scorers in the league, catching the attention of various larger teams in Europe.

Belgian giants Anderlecht and Club Brugge have also indicated interested but the Nigerian striker has insisted he wants to play in England.

The Eagles take on the Togo hawks at the Stade Municipal de Saint Leu La Foret, in Paris on Thursday, 1st June 2017 at 6.30pm Nigerian time.
