A Memorial Day Parade On Chicago's South Side

"[I'm] honestly very emotional on Memorial and Veteran's Day". "I appreciate when someone thanks me for my service but I tell you what I really appreciate: when someone thanks my son for his service".
"To all the veterans here today, who served and didn't return home, the rest of us owe you a debt of great gratitude", Gov. Mark Dayton said.
Units ranged from the United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps in tri-cornered caps, red coats and white breeches, to the flashy blue and gold of Ballou High School's marching Knights. Indeed, it was the civil war that abolished slavery, and was the stepping stone for passing the Civil rights Act of 1964 which allowed all immigrants to be equal citizens. Peter Fields was the honored veteran at the service in the cemetery.
Due to the amount, it is now divided into three sections including bricks dedicated exclusively to those who served in World War I, veterans of any military service, and bricks that honor civilian friends, family or organizations.
Marysville community members and veterans gathered at the city's cemetery on Memorial Day to honor military service members who have passed away. In the second supplication we ask God to forgive the ones who are alive, and the ones who are not, their parents, family, friends, believers and strangers.
