SIU's Kyle Landon qualifies for NCAA high jump

Also set for Eugene, Oregon for the championships is Nigeria's rising middle distance star Abike Egbeniyi of Middle Tennessee University in the US who ran a new personal best and school record time of 2:02.34 at the East Regional Preliminaries in Lexington, Kentucky.

Rogers State's Baylor Harvey earned All-America honors with a fifth-place finish in the men's 5,000-meter run at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships Saturday in Bradenton, Florida. The time is the first sub-43.00 relay time in school history and breaks the previous school record of 43.17 that had stood for just a month.

The top five in each of the two 1,500 heats at the NCAA West Prelims advanced to the national meet automatically.

All of Stanford's NCAA qualifiers but Mehra, who already has earned her master's in communication, will return next season.

Overall, SIU will be represented by three student athletes at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

The men's 4×100-meter relay team of senior Steven Gayle and juniors Richards, Walters and Tony Brown finished sixth in 39.07 to advance while the 4xr400-meter relay of sophomore Skyler Bowden, Richards, freshman Will Allen and Gayle finished fourth in 3:03.54 to move on.

He ran the 100-meter dash in 10.27 seconds during Day 1 of the NCAA East Regional on Thursday, a personal-best and a season-best for the Tide in the event. This year's Championship meet will take place between June 7th through June 10th in Eugene, Oregon at historic Hayward Field.
