Trump goes on another Twitter rant, calls leaks 'fabricated lies'

President Donald Trump is assailing internal leaks as he considers an overhaul of his White House staff and grapples with a burgeoning crisis involving alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 campaign.

"Any information flow into the government and then considered by the government, I won't criticize that", Kelly said in an interview on ABC's "This Week".

It was Kushner's suggestion that the line of communication be set up using Russian facilities, an arrangement that would mean that interactions on the channel could not be monitored by the U.S. The White House disclosed the meeting in March.

Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee, said Sunday on ABC that USA officials need to get to the bottom of the allegations against Kushner, including if Kushner was not honest about his Russian Federation contacts during the security clearance process. And the top-ranking Democrat on the House committee investigating potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation called for a review of Kushner's security clearance.

Trump aides, according to several USA news accounts in recent days, say that he could soon establish a "war room" inside the White House to deal with the burgeoning number of questions about his aides' links to Russian Federation and that he has hired a NY lawyer to advise him in handling the various investigations.

Even as the Post, followed by the New York Times and most of the print and broadcast media, sought to portray this proposal as an extraordinary and sinister breach of diplomatic and political norms, the newspaper acknowledged: "The State Department, the White House National Security Council and U.S. intelligence agencies all have the ability to set up secure communications with foreign leaders, though doing so for a transition team would be unusual". Also appearing on Meet the Press this morning was Senator Bob Corker who said that Kushner representatives had reached out to him and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to let them know that he is willing to speak with them and to be open and honest about what took place.

Another setback in the Trump-Kushner relationship-concern over Kushner's sister Nicole Meyer's pitch to Chinese businesspeople earlier this month.

"It is my opinion that numerous leaks coming out of the White House are fabricated lies made up by the #FakeNews media", he wrote Sunday morning.

U.S. President Donald Trump leaped to the defense of senior adviser Jared Kushner over the weekend, saying his son-in-law was doing excellent work for the country. "Any way that you can communicate with people, particularly organizations that are maybe not particularly friendly to us, is a good thing".

Kushner's status in the White House came under scrutiny Friday, when the Washington Post first reported he spoke with the Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak about establishing a backchannel line of communication between Russian officials and the Trump transition team. A small team of senior White House officials and Cuban officials met quietly in Canada and the Vatican for over a year in order to keep the meetings from the public eye, although State Department officials executed a coordinated strategy publicly.

"But for people associated with the campaign after that campaign has ended and where the Russians during that campaign were helping you, to try to establish a back channel and hide it from your own government, that's a serious allegation", he said.

"He needs to answer for what was happening at the time", Booker said. He focused heavily on leaks - both those coming out of the White House and an intelligence leak blamed on Americans about this week's deadly bombing at a concert in England.

Major issues await Trump. Press Secretary Sean Spicer was also in Kushner's crosshairs, according to the report, which further indicated that Kushner in recent weeks has been present during the president's dressing down of aides and advisers who have displeased him. "So, generally speaking, about back-channel communications, what that allows you to do is to communicate in a discreet manner".
