Tiger Woods arrested on DUI charge

Tiger Woods was arrested in Florida, US, for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Woods, who lives in Jupiter, was taken into custody at 3 a.m. and released just before 11 a.m. local time.

The 14-time major champion and victor of 79 PGA Tour titles has not played since he withdrew from the Dubai Desert Classic on February 3 after an opening-round 73.

The 41-year-old, one of the modern-day greats of golf with 14 majors to his name, has battled to regain his former glory following his divorce to Elin Nordegren in 2010.

Woods had the fusion surgery on April - his fourth surgery on his back dating to the spring of 2014 - and said it provided "instant nerve relief". "Presently, I'm not looking ahead".

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says on its website that Woods was booked into a county jail around 7 a.m. Monday. I can't twist for another two and a half to three months. At the time, he was reportedly under the influence of Ambient, though he was not charged with a DUI. "I am concentrating on short-term goals". Unfortunately, it was kind of like the 2008 U.S. Open.
