Olynyk guides Celtics to Game 7 win over Wizards

Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal, right, goes down with the ball as Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart defends during the second quarter of Game 7 of a second-round NBA basketball playoff series, Monday, May 15, 2017, in B. He scored 14 points in a span of 7:03 during the fourth quarter, finishing with an incredible 26 in the Celtics' 115-105 Game 7 win over the Wizards.

With the Celtics trailing late in the third quarter, Boston Celtics' 1.75m (5ft 9in) guard Thomas sparked a game-changing run with three three-pointers to give Boston its first double-digit lead of the game.

Bradley Beal led the Wizards, who were playing their first game seven since 1979, with 38 points, including 24 in the second half.

Otto Porter and Markieff Morris had 20 and 18 points, respectively.

Washington treated its incredible Game 6 win over the Celtics like it deserved a national holiday, as if the Wizards had won something.

The No.1 seeded Celtics have little time to celebrate Game 7's heart-pounding win as the second-seeded Cavaliers invade the TD Garden for Game 1 of their title series on Wednesday night (Thursday AM in Manila).

Beal and Wall, who combined for 59 points in Friday's Game 6 victory, need to be on their game from the start.

You have to hand it Stevens, who has that magic touch with decent players like Kelly Olynyk (26 points Monday), who looks like a star on some nights because the coach knows how to teach and run a complex offense that gets so many guys wide open shots.

"I think they are going to compete, and they competed at a high level against us", center Ian Mahinmi said.

The participants agreed this series needed a seventh game. The Wizards were rebounding much better than the Celtics were, especially on the offensive end.

The Celtics are the favorites going into Game 7 in Boston, as bet365 Sports has posted in their favor at 1.47, while the Wizards are not too far behind at 2.75. Mahinmi said he has "good and bad days" on the left calf that kept him out the first two games of the series, but said he is good to go for Game 7.

"Kelly was the MVP tonight", Thomas said. From there, the Celtics did not relinquish the lead back to the Wizards.

"I knew it would come down to the last six minutes of the game", Washington coach Scott Brooks said. It's kind of a privilege to get to that point where one game is going to decide your whole season basically. They drew within four points once in the fourth quarter, trailing 101-97 with 6:09 remaining, but that was short lived. The Celtics are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games, 8-19 ATS in their last 27 games playing on 2 days rest and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Isaiah Thomas previously claimed that "legends are made in Game 7".
