Klopp can attract top players to Liverpool, says Gerrard

Arsene Wenger believes an Emirates FA Cup Final triumph will be just-reward for his players' valiant attempt to save their season in recent weeks.

Jurgen Klopp's men travelled to Australia immediately after finishing their Premier League campaign, for a post-season friendly against Sydney FC.

Liverpool have no desire to sell their star player who helped the side wrap up a top-four finish this season. "Plus all the businesses we had to buy out so we went for over £420m And we had to pay a huge amount of money every year and that's when we had to stay in the Champions League".

Liverpool have struggled to lure players in the past - notably in 2014 when they tried and failed to sign Alexis Sanchez and Toni Kroos - but Gerrard said: 'If I'm a top player and I get offered the chance to play for this club - and a world-class manager - I'd jump at it'.

Last weekend, Klopp secured Liverpool's qualification for the Champions League for the first time since Gerrard joined the LA Galaxy in 2015, and the Anfield legend said the club must take advantage. "Now we have to seize the moment", the ex-midfielder stated. It can't be like it was a couple of years when we got back into the Champions League but it quickly fizzled out.

But first, Liverpool have the opportunity to revamp their squad in the summer transfer window, and Gerrard is confident that Klopp can attract some of the world's elite talent.

"The team has given so much, I think they really want to win something".

Liverpool youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold believes that it is exciting for the club to be back in the Champions League as it is where they belong.

"It's exciting times for the football club and that is something I wanted to be part of when I came here".
