FA Cup: Chelsea boss Antonio Conte 'must improve' squad next season

Ramsey sealed the victory for Arsene Wenger's men three minutes later, heading home from substitute Olivier Giroud's cross.

Rob Holding is delighted with the performance he put in for Arsenal in the FA Cup final win over Chelsea, in particular keeping Diego Costa quiet for most of the contest. Booked for foul on Pedro, but took Arsenal's second goal with aplomb. "To get another FA Cup - delighted".

Despite his uncertain future, Wenger called the win against Chelsea one of the "proudest moments" of his illustrious career with the Gunners.

Chelsea started the second half with more tempo and Footballer of the Year N'Golo Kante warmed Ospina's fingers with a deflected drive from distance before Moses brought a fine save from Ospina after Costa played him in.

The Gunners salvaged silverware from a season that failed to yield Champions League qualification, with Wenger coming in for sustained criticism amid a fifth-placed Premier League finish and a humiliating exit from Europe at the hands of Bayern Munich.

"The most important thing is to give a correct evaluation of our season", said Italian Conte.

"I'm happy for the manager", Ramsey said. "We have a board meeting on Tuesday, and on Wednesday or Thursday it will all be very clear". So there you have it.

This time around, the North London side had beaten far more than they could chew, as their qualification was dependent on either the defeat of Manchester City or Liverpool on the last day.

The whole saga now resembles an Arsenal attack on goal: lots of sideways movement and shifting momentum when a direct shot, or a swift announcement, is what everyone is crying out for.

A last night? A last medal?

So what will he do?

"There is no ideal way [to leave]".

"Of course I want him to stay at club", he said. "You can not make 35 years at the top level if you believe you are not the right man to do the job".

"I know my mind (on future)".

However, Wenger did accept that the uncertainty surrounding his future has not helped Arsenal this term.

Wenger, who has been in charge at Arsenal for 21 years, is yet to reveal whether he will sign an extension to the contract that expires at the end of the season.

"I'm just blessed for this opportunity", he added. So a bridge towards that, with a director of football being appointed to ease the burden on the manager, is their favoured approach. It was obvious there is a will for change in the Board, but they don't have the balls to sack Arsene.

He overtook George Ramsay, who won six FA Cups with Aston Villa between 1887 and 1920, as he secured his seventh success.

Fabregas says he is not upset with Antonio Conte.

"Just let me enjoy tonight".

"This doesn't influence anything", record seven-times FA Cup victor Wenger told reporters.
