Wenger says Cup triumph has no bearing on his future

Goals from Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey sent the Gunners celebrating at Wembley, with the Welshman hitting what proved to be the victor minutes after Diego Costa briefly restored parity.

Stevie Nicol believes Arsenal's FA Cup triumph over Chelsea will be enough to keep Arsene Wenger at the club. "If the club wants to sell me, they know where I want to go".

Wenger was also dismissive of the notion that his record-breaking FA Cup success, after previous wins in 1998, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2014 and 2015, might have an impact on the talks about his position.

Chelsea, so dominant for most of the season, looked at times to have been celebrating their league trophy a little too well and Arsenal pressed and harried them out of the game.

"I am proud if no one has done it before, to win the championship without losing a game and win seven FA Cups". "Instead, we face a team who lost out on the possibility to play in the Champions League next season and they have only this possibility to save their season".

"This season has been hurt by a blip in March and I am convinced now, looking back at this season, by the uncertainty about my future with the players".

When the BBC interviewer tried to push him for an answer on his future at the club, Wenger did exactly what he should have done, and simply pissed off, and asked to be allowed enjoy the night. "You always worry when you are a goal down and it was a game full of surprises".

In the second half Moses - already on a yellow card - dived in the penalty area under no contact from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

"But to play with 10 men, we were able to equalise, but to concede the second goal was key". I do think I am the right man to do the job. "Hopefully, he'll be there next season", Ramsey added. Every single player performed at 120 or 130 per cent in every game. Arsenal started better than us.

In an interview Football Focus before the final, Wenger described the criticism as "a disgrace" he will "never forget".

"What he did today was just a outcome of an unbelievable attitude every day, even if not selected, until the Everton game in the squad".

Per Mertesacker marshalled their backline with an excellent display on his first start in 392 days, while Rob Holding and Nacho Monreal were equally impressive either side of him.
