Virat Kohli slams reporter: India vs Pakistan is just another game

"If you've got a coaching staff that's uptight or too energetic, sometimes all the external pressure and stress can get to the players", added the left-hander.

"It was so freakish, everything we tried was just going against us". You seem to have come here with your own mindset.

"I feel you have to be prepaid for any challenge thrown at you and I generally expect placid wickets and that's the way I prepare for limited overs format". In my head I don't think of those things at all. It teaches you a lot as captain, it teaches you a lot of composure wise. "You take away a lot from failures, and that's something I have always cherished".

The ICC Champions Trophy is set to begin from June 1 where hosts England will take on Bangladesh in London. For us, it is just a game of cricket. When we do well in India, there is no hype. India's Jasprit Bumrah and South Africa's Kagiso Rabada can also create a huge impact while Pakistan's Babar Azam will have a point to prove with the bat. And that hurt me personally as I felt I wasn't able to contribute for the team.

Having taken over the captaincy in February, for Sarfraz the Champions Trophy marks the first major tournament at the helm.

Sarfraz continued: "This is my first major tournament as captain, I'm definitely very hopeful and excited about the competition".

"The warm-up game is a good opportunity for both teams before the Champions Trophy".

"If you talk about the longer format of the game then I did not do well here three years ago", he said. "I love the tournament because it represents a challenge from the [word] go".

"We haven't won this tournament yet, this can be the first time", he added. When we went there the last time, we just wanted to enjoy ourselves as a young unit.

The Men in Blue last won the tournament in 2013 when they defeated England in the finals by five runs under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. They were the main three factors. "It may be different for the people in general because atmosphere in the stadium is different, but for us cricketers, and you can ask anyone from either team - it is just another game of cricket".

"The last Champions Trophy helped us find the opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan".

"Secondly, Ash (Ravichandra) and (Ravindra Jadeja) were on top of their game and the way the fast bowlers bowled and the way we fielded, we were the best fielding side in the tournament back then. We have two guys who are aggressive at the top of the order and it's a nice balance to the batting line up now", said the five-time Ashes victor. If we can think about our games in that manner, we get the desired results more often than not.

"We needed to strengthen our lower middle order contribution".

"There's perhaps a feeling that it's about time to win a one-day tournament, which would be very nice, and they have been going well in the T20 competition as well". As for Australia, they've got a nicely balanced squad.
