Strong Storms Possible Tonight

Sunny. Warmer. Highs low to mid 80s.

Good evening! We are looking at more shower and storm chances during the next several days, but we are not expecting any wash outs.

Similar to last week the cold front will stall along the coast Tuesday creating some instability for more scattered showers and thunderstorms to fire up. For the rest of the weekend, rain chances will be higher near the mountains. These storms will eventually weaken with lingering pockets of rain and a few rumbles of thunder possible through sunrise time. There will be a slight chance for severe storms with main threat being gusty winds. Quicker winds, gusting up around 35 miles per hour are expected to start Sunday and continue into Memorial Day on Monday. There is a slight chance for a storm becoming severe in the afternoon. Once again, the storms could become strong to severe. Look for storms to fire later in the afternoon during peak heating. Temperatures will build into the upper 70's.

Tonight: Scattered showers and possible storms (25%).

For Virginia Beach, the water temperatures are in the low to mid 60s, and waves will be in the one to three foot range through Monday.

Sunday: Morning fog possible.

Skies will clear Sunday afternoon after some morning t-storms. Rain showers will fade by 7am leading to another nice day tomorrow. Highs will be in the mid 80's.
