Monster Hunter XX - pronounced "double cross" - is the latest entry in the action RPG series; an expanded version of Monster Hunter X, which was released in the USA in 2015 as Monster Hunter Generations. This new title should largely be the same game, only re-released with a HD coat of paint for the Switch.
Duplicating that success with Monster Hunter would be, of course, a tremendous boon to both Nintendo and Capcom.
Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter XX (pronounced "Double-Cross") is heading to the Nintendo Switch (at least in Japan). You play as a monster hunter (kind of like a Witcher) and have to complete various quests and missions throught the game by hunting down specific monsters. The Switch version also has 1080p resolution support, docked and handheld modes, and improved UI to match the new console. A lot of people wait for their favorite game to be released for the Switch so that they can buy the Nintendo Switch and enjoy it. "We are now carrying out research with regards to multiplatform implementation of software for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on to the Nintendo Switch", a spokesperson said in the Q&A.
Nintendo plans to take an aggressive approach to the console for the upcoming fiscal year and hopes to sell 10 million additional Switch units.
The latter might just happen this weekend though, at a fan event where Monster Hunter XX will be properly unveiled for the Switch.
Next, I tried it with the Joy Cons detached from the system and playing with one controller in each hand.
That's a huge bump that the outlet attributes directly to Monster Hunter. As with past Nintendo consoles, the Switch has featured a heavy emphasis on original Nintendo properties like The Legend of Zelda and Splatoon.
