Luis Enrique seeks one last trophy before leaving Barcelona

Lionel Messi inspired Barcelona to a 3-1 win over Alaves in the Copa del Rey final as Luis Enrique finished his reign at the Catalan club on a high.

Barca were searching for one piece of silverware to end a disappointing campaign after surrendering the Liga title to Real Madrid and exiting the Champions League in the quarter-finals to Juventus and were without prolific striker Luis Suarez and defender Sergi Roberto through suspension.

Luis Enrique's final game ended with another trophy, meaning the team have won nine of 13 competitions entered during his three seasons in charge.

"I'm open to every possibility, including changing sports", the 47-year-old Luis Enrique said, with a smile on his face. "I'm leaving when I think it's the best time to do it".

In spite of a trophy-less season still, it has still been an unforgettable season, with Barca beating their previous goals record in the league by scoring 116 times and overturning a four-goal deficit against Paris St Germain in the Champions League by winning 6-1.

"The easiest thing to highlight is the trophies he has won, but I will always remember the way he has treated us".

"We will need to play a very complete match to have a chance, but we are a team that always competes to the maximum", said Pellegrino, who is completing a noteworthy first season with the club.

Barcelona has yet to lose a Copa del Rey home-and-away series since he took over, a run of 12 straight triumphs.

It would also be the flawless send off for the Barcelona coach who will sit in the Catlan dugout for the last time in the Vicente Calderon Stadium, ending a successful three-year spell at the club.

Alaves' only winner's trophy is for Spain's second division. "He's been one of the best in the club's history and what better way to bid farewell to him than with a trophy", Pique told a news conference on Friday ahead of the final.

Lionel Messi (Barcelona) In this form, there's nobody in world football who can match Messi.

Having said that, Alaves do not really possess the firepower that can trouble Barcelona's defence on the night, and it is hard to see them find the back of the net.

Alaves then began to rally and created a flurry of chances and they attempted to claw back into the game, with Brazilian Deyverson at the heart of it.

Of course, Barcelona still have a lot of talent available to them, and this Copa del Rey Final is their match to lose.
