Looking for treats, black bear gets stuck in car, honks horn

Va. (CBS) It was a bear of a day for authorities in Roanoke County, Va. - literally.

A Virginia man was getting ready for work Thursday when he heard his auto horn suddenly go off in the driveway.

He and his wife say they heard a honk on their auto horn and came out to discover it was a bear cub that did it.

Meanwhile, his wife called the police for help.

"I look out the window and I can see the vehicle kinda shaking, and I hear noises".

"The baby bear found some treats inside and caused minor damage to the vehicle".

Roanoke County Police Officer Chris Thayer said, "You could see there was mist".

A Virginia family had an unusual start to their Thursday morning after they found a bear inside their auto. It was misty, so you could see where he tried to reach for the handle, he opened the handle.

On Thursday, a bear cub in Roanoke, Virginia, locked himself inside a Honda Pilot.

"The bear has somehow gotten inside the auto and locked it back so all the doors were closed", McClanahan said.

The incident comes shortly after a bear caused a spectacle in downtown Roanoke.
