Gerrard confident Liverpool FC can secure top targets

A couple of players including Alexis Sanchez, Gabriel Paulista could miss out on the clash against Chelsea in the FA cup final in Wembley after picking up knocks during the game.

"We're blessed to have him and hopefully we can go from strength to strength over the summer".

The Liverpool manager guided the Merseyside outfit to a fourth-place finish in the Premier League table in the 2016-17 campaign.

The laundry list of players who would be nice to entice to Anfield is long, but if Gerrard is right and the opportunity to play with Klopp is what sweetens the pot, then the summer transfer window should be a pleasure to watch.

However, Gerrard insists Liverpool still remain an attractive prospect to foreign players.

While Wenger was able to achieve Champions League qualification in every season at the club until now, he admits it was the bare minimum require to be able to compete financially. "Now we have to seize the moment", the ex-midfielder stated.

"The Champions League is the best tournament in Europe", said Klopp, who guided Borussia Dortmund to the 2013 final where they lost to domestic rivals Bayern Munich.

"We're in the qualifying stage but you've got to realise that to get to the latter stages of the competition you are talking about top, top class opposition".

"The players came back stronger in the past two months and I'm very proud of them for doing that".

Ozil was last year's victor, but he has not been recognised in the top three this season, having received criticism from many observers for his inconsistent form, prompting manager Arsene Wenger to defend him. "It's important that we keep trying to move forward".

"If Jurgen Klopp had been at the club three or four years I believe I would have been part of him delivering big trophies".

"If I'm a top player and I get offered the chance to play for this club - and a world-class manager - I'd jump at it", he said. For me, it's such an exciting project.
