"We showed strength, unity and played spectacular football".

However, the board may think that just because Wenger won an F.A. Cup it doesn't mean he deserves a contract.

Ramsey headed Arsenal's 79th minute victor as the Gunners clinched a thrilling 2-1 win over Premier League champions Chelsea in Saturday's final at Wembley.Arsenal's German defender Per Mertesacker lifts the FA Cup trophy as Arsenal players celebrate their victory over Chelsea in the English FA Cup final football match between Arsenal and Chelsea at Wembley stadium in London on May 27, 2017.

"For me, this season was incredible for us".

With Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi, Gabriel and Kieran Gibbs all unavailable in a defensive selection crisis, the former Germany global was named in the starting line-up by Arsene Wenger for the first time since April 2016.

Wenger was ebullient about his side whose vibrant performance to outplay the Premier League champions he described as one of the proudest moments of his long career.

"Of course I think he'll stay", Ramsey told BBC Sport, as quoted by Goal.

"They could have scored four in the first half and should have had two of three more in the second".

Beaten manager Antonio Conte felt Sanchez's fourth-minute opener - which was initially disallowed for offside, then allowed to stand - should have been ruled out.

Referee Anthony Taylor consulted with the linesman before awarding the goal to Arsenal.

In the hours leading up to the match, undeterred Arsenal and Chelsea fans said they felt "secure" in the presence of armed officers.

But there were few signs of ring-rust as the former Germany defender produced three crucial last-ditch blocks to thwart Costa. Chelsea weren't able to sniff out any danger, and Arsenal still had their shots on goal.

But Arsenal continued to threaten on the break and in the 68th minute the momentum tilted yet further in their direction.

In one of the finest finals in recent memory, the Gunners were magnificent to a man - dominating the first half, soaking up pressure in the second, and eventually battling back from a late equaliser to go back up the other end and win it in style.
