On the other side of the pitch, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was celebrating with his players, becoming exactly the opposite of Conte in recent seasons: Able to win cups again and again, but incapable of lifting league trophies.
"I'm proud to have won seven of these cups".
"It's a pity that we didn't win the FA Cup, but don't forget we had a big (performance) to arrive here and we must be proud of this".
The title comes at a critical time for Wenger, with opposition to his 20-year reign in north London stronger than ever.
"At the end of the day everyone trusted me and supported me throughout the season and the manager gave me the opportunity".
'It is two weeks since Chelsea won the Premier League title at the Hawthorns and, by the looks of things, they have done a lot of partying since, ' Shearer told the BBC. I have nothing against Antonio, he has done a fantastic job.
"I wish this final was played before the end of the league so we wouldn't finish with this feeling just after winning the Premier League".
"We had an outstanding performance from the first minute onwards", he said.
Victor Moses forced David Ospina into a fine save in the second period, before the Chelsea wing-back was given a second yellow card on 68 minutes for diving in the penalty area.
But any sense of disappointment at Chelsea will be short-lived after Conte's brilliant first season at Stamford Bridge. "I am convinced now, after looking back at the season, by the uncertainty of my future [affecting] the players". We played some games in a very hostile environment and I will never accept that.
"The first goal was very odd, but in the first half we didn't start well". I love this competition.
"Nobody gave us a chance and we responded with attitude and class and we have seen that today".
"For next season we must pay great attention and understand that we have to improve the numbers and the quality in the squad".
