Bryant, Heyward, Zobrist homer as Cubs beat Giants 5-1

Chicago got home runs from Kris Bryant, Heyward and Ben Zobrist and added two eighth-inning runs on a wild pitch as they took three of four from the Giants (20-29). On Thursday, the ever-subtle Cubs manager and his team took off for West Coast, and they traveled "Anchorman"-style. We're looking like we're getting in our groove a little bit".
His two homers marked the second time of his career with two off a left-handed pitcher in the same game.
"Joe bounced stuff off of us and we said, 'Yeah, this one will be cool and fun, because we're going to San Diego and we can wear it there and coming back, '" Heyward said.
The Giants might have had grounds for a replay review on Bryant's home run, which a fan stretched to catch at the lip of the basket that extends away from the stands and is meant to prevent fan interference.

The Giants are 14-7 when they score four or more runs, and based on their swings in the 1st inning, they appeared headed for a productive game.
The Cubs headed to Los Angeles for a three-game set against the Dodgers. "When you're facing a lineup like theirs you've got to be on the whole time. We couldn't do it".
The lone run in the game for the Giants came in the first inning as first baseman Brandon Belt hit an RBI-double to give the Giants an early 1-0 lead. "But wild pitches scored two runs". Samardzija was on his way to making it five consecutive starts before he walked Ian Happ in the sixth inning.
