Major critics were disappointed with PeeCee for being passive throughout the course of film and for picking up a role which doesn't justify her acting skills.
The film now holds a 14 percent rotten rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes with its consensus reading, "Baywatch takes its source material's jiggle factor to R-rated levels, but lacks the original's campy charm - and leaves its charming stars flailing in the shallows".
The latest vintage television show to become a contemporary Hollywood comedy is "Baywatch", the 1990s-era hit that starred David Hasselhoff as a Los Angeles lifeguard who doubles as crime fighter and action hero.
Actress Priyanka Chopra is urging James Bond movie bosses to consider giving 007 a gender-bending twist by casting a female as the iconic superspy. Knight agreed that the film isn't the best, but it still deserves some credit.
The critics and worldwide media referred to her as the "highlight of the film", "extremely commanding" and "incredibly talented", demanding to see more of the actress, despite the film being an out-and-out commercial comedy starring the likes of Hollywood's highest paid actor Dwayne Johnson and heartthrob Zac Efron. "Despite being incredibly talented, Chopra is clinically underused, the script offering her nothing to work with", his review read.
Don't forget about the comically gifted supporting player Rob Huebel as Captain Thorpe and Quantico's Priyanka Chopra as the evil Victoria. "Chopra's engaging, interesting and speaks with a distinctive cadence", said IGN. "None of them are given much of anything to do, either", wrote IGN's Gav Murphy.

"Chopra has fun as the baddie, but she stays in the background until the end of the movie and really only gets one big scene at the end of the picture". Low-hanging fruit include distracting the villain by dancing amusing; the not-so-bright heartthrob; and jokes about male and female anatomy (the movie even blatantly rips off the zipper scene from "There's Something About Mary").
On paper, Baywatch sounds ripe with guilty pleasure: an update on one of the most popular, and cheesy, TV shows of all time, played for giggles and filled with lovely people, wearing little. But save for a few penis jokes, Baywatch the movie serves as a reminder that sometimes an unremarkable past is better left alone.
Luxford awarded the film a 3-star rating.
