LeBron James exchanges words with heckling fan after Game 3 loss

Many narratives were rewritten and egg smeared on faces Sunday as the Cavaliers (gasp) lost to the Celtics in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, 111-108, in Cleveland.

The defending National Basketball Association champions, who shot 71 percent in the second half, opened a 3-1 lead in the series and can wrap up their third straight conference title - and a "three-match" against the Warriors - with a win in Game 5 on Thursday night in Boston.

While injured Boston Celtics star Isaiah Thomas couldn't be in Cleveland on Sunday, he was with his team following its thrilling Game 3 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Boston bench outscored that of Cleveland, whose starters all scored in double figures. In Game 3, the Cavs got exactly what they wanted from James' talented supporting cast.

The betting odds are in for the Celtics and Cavaliers as they get ready for Game 4 on Tuesday night in Cleveland.

Arena security quickly got the fan away from James. My teammates did a great job of keeping us in the game and building that lead. What happened, I mean, it hurts.

Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James finished the night with 11 points on 4-for-13 shooting, including 0 for 4 from beyond the arc. "So to see him happy and smiling, it was a good feeling for us". "We have been playing so well, but when another team is playing that well then you know that the team that gets the last shot is going to win". They led by 41 - 72-31 - at halftime and won the game, 130-86.

Boston will have a chance to even up the series at 2-2 if James plays poorly again.

James went just 4 of 13 from the field in Game 3.

Marcus Smart scored 27 points and was the leader of the team from Boston in this one, Avery Bradley had 20 and Al Horford 16. "That's what I always think, when people of his stature or people like him, you've got to play confident the whole night and play aggressive. But we definitely understand that this (Boston) team is not going to quit, they're going to fight, they're going to compete".

Meanwhile, J.R. Smith and Kyle Korver helped spread out Boston's defenders by connecting on several wide-open scoring opportunities.

Did you know NBA Commissioner Adam Silver was so anxious about the league's TV ratings that he rang up LeBron James and told him to take it easy on the Celtics? They allowed offensive rebounds, played poor perimeter defense, and committed turnovers - all unusual things for this Cavaliers squad. It's the second time he's failed to score in the fourth quarter of a playoff game, joining Game 4 of the 2011 NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks. "We can't go back to Boston tied 2-2". He had scored at least 30 points in eight straight playoff games and imposed his will in the first two games. "Crowder. So, they got a lot of tough guys that are going to compete so they're making us compete, which is good for us". They scrapped. They have a scrappy team. Each of Cleveland's last six postseason home games have gone OVER the posted total.
