Death of two-year-old Brisbane toddler with 'significant injuries' treated as suspicious

Police will address the media this afternoon and have announced the investigation is being headed by the Boondall Child Protection and Investigation Unit.

They worked for about 30 minutes and managed to revive her, rushing her to Lady Cilento Childrens' Hospital in a critical condition, but she died overnight.

Paramedics said the toddler was unconscious when they arrived at the townhouse in Ridge Street at Northgate about around 3:00pm on Thursday afternoon.

Her parents are cooperating with the police.

A neighbour told 9NEWS there was "no indication" that anything suspicious had happened at the home yesterday.

'Everything was very quiet. All of a sudden, all these ambulances were everywhere, ' she said.

Police were investigating the death of a toddler overnight.

"There is never any sound that comes from there, nothing that gave me any indication that anything was wrong yesterday".
