The Central Board of Secondary Education said it will not move SC to challenge the Delhi HC instructions and evaluation for the Class 10 and 12 board exams will be done according to the grace marks policy. Each candidate needs to score minimum 33 per cent marks in both the board exam and practical exam to pass the subject.
The CBSE is likely to stick to its 5 point moderation policy.
Board officials say that they are making all efforts to release the results by the weekend.
Different sets have different difficulty levels.
Prakash Javadekar, who is in charge of the ministry responsible for handling the crisis, said results will not be delayed. CBSE will make the announcement soon.
As per oneindia, the board may announce the CBSE Class XII Results 2017/CBSE Class 12 result 2017 by Saturday evening. Spiking of marks is not part of moderation. What added more to this tussle was the Board's delay in declaring the result.
The high court bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Pratibha M Singh on Tuesday, while underlining that students would be put to "grave and irreparable loss" if the policy of moderation was done away with at this stage, said the "petitioners had made a prima facie case for interim relief".
A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Pratibha M Singh passed the interim order on a PIL filed by a parent and a lawyer contending that the policy should not be done away with this year, as decided by some states, since it would affect the students of Class 12, particularly those who have applied for admissions overseas. Earlier, CBSE was considering the option of filing a special leave petition in the Supreme Court against the HC's directive. "We have written to the HRD ministry and CBSE because the promise of identical question papers was not followed and tough questions were framed for the Bengali board students".
Government lawyers had reportedly advised the CBSE not to challenge the High Court order and to implement policy next year.
This year, the CBSE XII exam started on March 9 and ended on April 29. It conducts academic programmes and organises examinations, especially for Class 10 and Class 12 students.
