Vivek Oberoi gifts acid attack survivor a flat in Mumbai

According to the chairperson of Mumbai-based Courage Incumbent Foundation, Daulatbi Khan, who was present at the wedding, Lalita and Ravi fell in love after conversing over phone initially. "I enquired about her and the other acid attack survivors, and was told that she is financially weak". This one wrong call changed the life of Lalita and gifted her a Bollywood wedding.

"I am feeling very happy. I had never thought that I would ever get married", Bansi told ANI. Her treatment will now resume post her wedding.Lalita and her wedding with her suitor Rahul is no less than a Bollywood story. "But even without seeing her, I knew I wanted to be with her, looks didn't matter", Singh told The Indian Express. "Didn't know a wrong number would change my life entirely", he said.

But the ceremony was cut short when Lalita's cousins attacked her with acid, owing to personal enmity. She underwent 17 surgeries to recover. The actor reportedly promised her then that he will gift her a house.

She said they had discussed the horrific attack: 'He knew everything about me and was well aware of my looks, but he still kept on his promise to marry me. "I wish god blessed us for a lifetime", said Mr. Singh.

Saahas foundation, an NGO overseeing Lalita's rehabilitation is excited, as many from the film industry came forward to help the victim. The Rotary Club of Shivaji Park gifted the couple Rs. 25,000, while the bride's wedding finery was designed by renowned fashion designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. He (Rahul) loves her truly. Now they are starting a new life. However, I gained courage because of Ravi and, finally, told him one day that my face was disfigured and he may not like me.
