Memorial Day Weekend weather has some bright spots

Temperatures drop into the upper 50s tonight and another round of rain moves in after 9 PM. Highs on Wednesday crest into the low 70s with an onshore flow keeping temperatures in the 60s at the coast. Clouds should break this afternoon, allowing temps to return to the low 70s.

SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy skies and scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be possible, with a warm and muggy high temperature of 80 degrees. Highs will be in the 60s and 70s, and lows in the 40s.

Have a great Wednesday!

Today. A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m.

Thursday. A 20 percent chance of showers before 8 a.m. As the night goes on, skies will at least partially clear but areas of fog will form. I say "mainly" because there will be enough moisture around to squeeze out a few light showers and perhaps an isolated thunderstorm. However, showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms are expected to develop during the afternoon and evening.

A wind-swept rain moves in for Thursday as the next weather system moves into New England from the Ohio River Valley.

Rain will linger Thursday morning and possibly into the early afternoon. The rest of the time it will be partly cloudy and warm.

The actual Memorial Day forecast is still too far away to be reliable in such an active pattern, but expect a return to clouds and a chance of showers as another storm approaches from the west.

Overview: Scattered rain will be possible for Wednesday and Thursday, with Wednesday the best chance for widespread rain showers. High of 72. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain possible. The Memorial Day Holiday will have plenty of dry hours. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. Otherwise, on Saturday and on Memorial Day, there will be a slight risk of a PM shower or storm.
