Melania Trump wants no part of Donald Trump's hand-holding efforts

Netizens are quick to express their views about the first lady's recent reactions every time her husband tries to hold her hand.

Following his meeting with Abbas, he said in a final speech before departing the country for Vatican City, that, "the Palestinians are ready for peace", and added that Netanyahu was also "reaching for peace".

Is this payback for the time Trump forgot Melania in the auto at his inauguration or the time he closed the vehicle door in her face?

Trump has repeatedly said he hopes to reopen negotiations.

US President Donald Trump (L) speaks during a joint statment with Israel's President Reuven Rivlin at the President's House on May 22, 2017 in Jerusalem, Israel.

The food was prepared by Segev, the owner of a number of restaurants in central Israel, most notably his flagship #SegevArt.

But there's a problem with that statement: Israel is in the Middle East. Abbas said he welcomed Trump's "noble and possible mission".

Critics, like Morton Klein of the Zionist Organization of America, insisted that Jerusalem, not Tel Aviv, is Judaism's historical and spiritual home.

The US president dedicated less than an hour to meet with Abbas in Bethlehem, during a two-day visit to Israel. As they all got up to take a picture, Netanyahu boasted that he is serving his fourth term as prime minister and then presented the first couple a gift: a 150-year-old bible.

The status of Jerusalem is the subject of a longstanding USA policy debate - and it showed during Trump's trip.

"You, First Wife, First Family, First Lady Melania Trump, your family and your delegation, you've shown a great commitment to Israel's future and to its security", the Israeli leader said. "He did not weigh in Israeli settlements, the status of Jerusalem or even whether the US would continue to insist on a two-state solution giving the Palestinians sovereign territory".

A video of the pair went viral yesterday after Melania appeared to swat her husband's hand away upon exiting Air Force One and being greeted by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara.

As the US President and First Lady stepped off the presidential plane, he tried to grasp his wife's hand at the top of the staircase, but she pulled away with lightning fast reflexes.
