He signaled agreement with Rouhani by making public his "doctrine of flexibility", allowing the nuclear deal with America and its U.N. Security Council allies including China and Russian Federation. At the same time, USA and Iranian forces are both backing the government in Iraq against Islamic State militants.
The spokesman further slammed as "baseless" Trump's allegations that Iran is backing terrorism, stressing that Tehran's honest war against terrorism has been clear to the worldwide community.
One of the first things he noted was that the mullahs' regime will continue their militant efforts in the region, adding that Iran had troops on the ground in Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon, as well as their efforts to fight terrorism in the region.
"The Americans do not know our region, that's what the catch is", Rouhani said in response to a question from The Associated Press.
Zuma has therefore extended his congratulations and best wishes to Rouhani and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the diplomacy said in Pretoria.
A United Nations report suggested a year ago that the Middle East has been worst hit by the significant rise in sand and dust storms, with major impacts on human health, adding that Iran and Kuwait are the most affected countries, largely because of sand and dust blowing in from Syria and Iraq.
"Iran must never be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon - never ever - and (it) must cease its deadly funding, training and equipping of terrorists and militias", Mr Trump said in Jerusalem.
"All nations of conscience must work together to isolate Iran", Trump said.
"The issue of terrorism can not be solved through giving money to superpowers", Rouhani said. "Unfortunately, Americans have always made mistakes in our region", he continued.
Trump repeatedly has criticized Iran in speeches on his first foreign trip.
The Iranian president voiced Iran's readiness to attract French investors to develop a partnership in various fields, including the transportation industry and infrastructures in Iran.

Rouhani beat his main challenger, conservative ex-prosecutor Ebrahim Raisi in the first round of the election, polling almost 57 percent of the vote and winning another four-year term as president. Trump, meanwhile, has threatened to tear up the deal.
