IPL 2017 55th Match: Supergiants qualify for playoffs, Kings XI miss out

Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) will face each other in the Qualifier 1 on May 16 at the Wankhede Stadium.

Rising Pune Supergiant finished above Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2017 points table.

Also, hitting Harbhajan for too many runs now it seems easy for the team to give competition to the opposite team.

Opting to bowl first, the Supergiants started the match in the best possible way as Jaydev Unadkat removed Martin Guptill on the first ball. The wicket wasn't that bad that we skittled to just 73 runs.

Things only went downhill from that point on as Shardul Thakur ripped through the top order with a three-wicket haul. "But it did not happen that way", Sehwag said after Kings XI bowed out of the IPL having been bundled out for its lowest total ever in IPL. Mumbai Indians suffered no loss due to the defeat in the game as the team has already entered into playoffs. The credit goes to Indian bowlers.

Sundar was named as the "Man of the Match" for his 3/16. The right-handed opener smashed five fours and a six in his innings of 43 balls while Manoj hit four boundaries and two sixes as he continued his fine form with the bat.

"I think they were complaining that the wicket was a bit slow but when you play global cricket so much, you should get used to playing on hard or good wickets". On the bowling front, JaydevUnadkatwill be expected to continue the good work he has done through the season; the left-arm pacer has played ten matches so far, and has picked up at least one wicket in each outing. Like, I play for Haryana, where Amit Mishra and Yuzvendra Chahal are also part of the team, I draw inspiration from them.

"I'm very disappointed. that none of the foreign players took responsibility and at least played 12 to 15 overs". The other players in the team have a lot to learn from Hashim Amla, be it worldwide players or Indian.

Supergiant skipper Steve Smith said other players would have to step up Stokes's absence. Khawaja had not any experience in this IPL 2017 play. However, this season, the wicket has become bit sluggish and batsmen has struggled. Rising Pune Supergiant's batsmen didn't get much opportunity to bat in the last match, Dhoni will be looking to fire some runs and Smith needs to chip in by spending more time at the crease and play a captain's knock on the big occasion.
