Gabriel out for up to eight weeks, but Arsenal defender avoids surgery

Arsenal face a major defensive headache with Laurent Koscielny suspended and Gabriel ruled out for up to eight weeks with medial knee ligament damage.

Mustafi is reportedly suffering with concussion and the fact he has not yet trained, will be a particular worry for Wenger and supporters.

"He avoids surgery", said Arsene Wenger, who has been facing growing pressure of quitting the club he has managed for the last 20 years.

Despite his absence, Arsenal still ended their Premier League season with a 3-1 home win, although results elsewhere meant they failed to qualify for Europe's lucrative Champions League.

"We have to find solutions and hopefully I can find some good ones".

"Not always the best team wins in the FA Cup Final", Harris told ChelseaFan12".

Both clubs said they did not want to add to the strain on security services by staging a large event as Britain was placed on the highest terror threat level for the first time in 10 years.

Victory would give him a record seventh FA Cup, but asked if he felt this could be Wenger's last game, Mertesacker said: " I have absolutely no idea. They have met twice this season, with one win apiece, and it should prove to be an exciting game.

It is expected that the long-serving Frenchman will be offered an extension, but Merson says he can not continue with his current approach and needs to take a leaf out of the coaching book of an arch-rival at Manchester United. "We'll see how well he comes out of that but knowing the player, his character and his commitment to the club, which I don't question at all, he will make absolutely everything to be fit for Saturday".

"We will see as he needs to go through some tests".

"Given the heightened security threat announced by the government, and recognising that this is a developing situation, we have given this careful consideration".

"Our compassion and solidarity is total with the city of Manchester". I think when you look at that, it's a quality, and I'm not sure they'll ever get another manager like that. I was in Paris when it happened on November 13 2015 and it's a huge shock.
