French police raid PSG HQ, 3 players' homes

Paris Saint-Germain's Angel Di Maria is among those being investigated in connection with the probe into the use of tax heavens to hide earnings from the marketing of image rights.

Police also searched the home of Argentinian striker Emiliano Sala, who plays for Ligue 1 side Nantes.

Agents from France's Central Anti-Corruption and Financial Offences Bureau arrived at the players' houses in the early hours and at PSG's offices in the Parc des Princes and in Boulogne-Billancourt. According to the "Football Leaks" release, the French giants had a contract with a Panamanian offshore company, in which they would direct players to the company in return for a percentage of earnings.

Di Maria is being linked to a move back to Spain, while both Pastore and he have also been pursued by Juventus.

"Paris Saint-Germain communicated all the information and documents requested on two of its players", read a PSG statement quoted in the French media.

Details of the players' contracts appear to reveal they had avoided taxes by using offshore arrangements to receive payments related to their so-called image rights, Bloomberg reports.

The final could be a crucial game for the future of coach Unai Emery with the club losing their league title to Monaco.

The leaks also targeted Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United's Paul Pogba.
