Dozen of Children, Teenagers in Hospital After Manchester Terror Attack

Pep Guardiola's wife and two daughters escaped unharmed from the suicide bomb attack in Manchester on Monday night. According to reports, the Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack.

"A huge bomb-like bang went off that hugely panicked everyone and we were all trying to flee the arena", said 22-year-old concertgoer Majid Khan.

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney said in a statement that the city "joins the world in mourning the loss of so many innocent men, women and children". It said she died of wounds from the attack and described her as "a lovely young student who was very popular with her peers and the staff". A 23-year-old man was arrested in South Manchester on Tuesday morning, police said.

Officials have called the bombings a terrorist attack which now seems to have been confirmed by ISIS. "The priority is to establish whether he was acting alone or as part of a network".

The bomb wielded by Abedi was created to kill and maim as many people as possible; numerous survivors suffered shrapnel wounds and ball bearings were found at the scene.

Grande's role as Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon's high school sitcom "Victorious" propelled her to teen idol status, starting in 2010. She tweeted, "Broken. From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry".

Queen Elizabeth is offering her condolences and words of encouragement to the victims of the Manchester attacks. "We are further investigating what happened".

British Prime Minister Theresa May declared the Manchester Arena attack a "callous terrorist attack" and "the worst attack the city has ever experienced".

Speaking outside Downing Street after chairing a meeting of the Government's Cobra emergency committee, Mrs May said the perpetrator had chosen the time and place of his attack deliberately to cause "maximum carnage and to kill and injure indiscriminately".

A local hotel reported taking in more than 50 youths, some of whom were waiting to be reunited with parents and guardians.
