Spurs advance to face Warriors in Western Finals

If his left ankle and knee issues can be managed with an extra day of treatment and rest, Leonard will individually give Golden State all they can handle. When the teams last met in the postseason the Spurs triumphed, before experiencing unprecedented basketball heartbreak in the 2013 Finals. And sometimes Game 1 is a tricky spot for a team that's been off for a while.

Iguodala immediately joined the Warriors via trade that offseason.

"Having said that, we're excited because we know that we match up really well against them".

The Spurs meet the Warriors in game one of the Conference finals on Sunday. It was a decent series too.

The Warriors are 8-0 straight up and 5-3 against the spread in the playoffs, winning by an average of 16.5 points with a 5-3 over-under record. They then pulled off a miraculous recovery, outscored the Spurs 93-65 the rest of the way to take a 110-98 victory, with Curry and Thompson combining for 52 points, while David West and Iguodala combined for 29 off the bench.

San Antonio won the first game.

While he still keeps in touch with Curry and others, Lee is downplaying any potential nostalgia from his time with Golden State.

They entered the game down three games to two in the series against the San Antonio Spurs.

Game 2: Tuesday at Golden State, 6 p.m. Whew! These are the types of series you want. I'd be extremely surprised if they win two games. Ailing Kerr attended the Warriors' practice Saturday morning, May 13, 2017, returning to the floor for the first time in more than three weeks.

As dominant as the Warriors have been sweeping through the first two rounds of the playoffs, praying might not hurt either. This year's meeting won't have as much juice as it would have last year, when the two teams had combined for 140 regular season wins, but it's still a tremendous matchup and gives this Warriors team, which has accomplished nearly everything, the rare chance at a first.

And while Harden looked bad and not like himself Thursday, ample credit belongs to the Spurs for their defensive showing. We've seen Leonard's body of work in the regular season and in the Finals when he matched up against LeBron James.

Of course, the Spurs will have no chance if Leonard isn't healthy.

Previous year would've been really interesting.

You know Gregg Popovich is serious about the Western Conference finals because he didn't schedule any extra time for a trip to Napa beforehand.

At 47 years old, Brown is almost 20 years younger than the 68-year-old Popovich, but I don't know if he should take Pop so lightly.
