LA2024 and Paris will have two more major opportunities to showcase their bids when they make presentations to the International Olympic Committee at the Lausanne headquarters in July followed by the all-important final presentation at a Congress in Lima, Peru ahead of the September 13 vote.
"Our friends of Paris 2024 presented us with an exceptional and well detailed bid presentation", Baumann said.
On the table, however, is a proposal to use that meeting to dole out the next two Olympics - 2024 and 2028 - one to each city.
"It's not just about the 2024 Games, it's about sustainability and relevancy of every Games after", Mayor Eric Garcetti said.
LA 2024 chairman Casey Wasserman said the plans were a direct result of the city's reliance of existing venues.
French president Emmanuel Macron will meet the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) evaluation commission on Tuesday in an effort to boost Paris's bid to host the 2024 Games, a bid official said on Sunday. We are ready to share with them everything that Paris has to offer and demonstrate why Paris is the flawless partner and ideal host of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
LOS ANGELES Tennis player Serena Williams and gymnast Simone Biles are the latest leading athletes to lend their names to the campaign to bring the 2024 Summer Olympics to Los Angeles, the city's bid committee said on Friday.
"The president is willing to play whatever role that we ask and that is needed", Garcetti told reporters on Friday when asked whether Trump would travel to Peru to make a final push.
"If you can create winners instead of so many losers, it's good for the (Olympic) movement", Garcetti said, standing at the free-throw line on the basketball court at Staples Center.
It says Macron "warmly reaffirmed" his support for Paris' bid.
Paris has prepared for the visit by displaying its bid logo on the giant Montparnasse Tower and the Olympic colours on buildings such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"We don't think that is going to be an issue", he said. According to the bid dossier, 84 percent of the athletes will be able to reach their competition venues in less than 25 minutes because the Olympic Stadium and aquatics center would be within 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) of the proposed village.
However, Baumann said, "I'm concentrating on 2024".
"There is an Olympic spirit that is very strong in both cities", Baumann added, referring to the previous two Games each city has hosted.
"They have been impressed by the quality of the landmarks and the iconic venues that we offer".
"The legacy of 1984 lives on not only in the venues, but also, more importantly, in the people who were inspired by those Games", he said.
