Gunners miss out on Champions League spot

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech insists missing one year of the Champions League is not a problem but says the club must keep their star players if they want to return.

"I would have liked to have played more but I am grateful to the club for the opportunities and the manager has been really nice to me", Sturridge said.

Having claimed European club football's top honour and four Premier League titles during his career at Chelsea, the only silver linings Cech could find to Arsenal's situation was the chance Wenger will have to bleed his younger players on a bigger stage.

"As long as I am somewhere I do my job until the last day".

"The whole team is playing well, today was a very important victory, next season it's the Champions League". There were questions about his attitude and what not, but like I have said so many times, I would like more players in that Arsenal squad to have his attitude. The futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, in particular, both remain uncertain and Wenger lamented losing out to Liverpool by just a single point.

This belief seems to extend from the players into the fans and one such player is Adam Lallana who feels as though we should all expect big arrivals this summer.

I was listening to what Wenger was saying and I agree that they lost a lot of games but they also won a lot of games in the dying minutes or with lucky decisions at times.

But the Frenchman said fans' continued protests about his stewardship at the club had played a part in the failure to reach the Champions League.

Alisher Usmanov has made a £1billion bid to take control of the club and supporters chanted for Kroenke to leave as their frustration mounted in the second half.

Disappointed Arsenal could point out that their total of 75 points was more than they achieved in finishing runners-up last season and would normally have put them in the top four. "I don't see what he has to do with that".
