Platinum Games tease unannounced "formless" IP and new director

They obviously didn't reveal what the IP is, but IGN is reporting that the IP is "formless" and that a new director will be taking charge of whatever the project is they're working on.

Atsushi Inaba, the producer of PlatinumGames, declared during the Japanese BitSummit event that the studio was now working on a new IP.

What do you think the studio is working on for its new IP? Producer Atsushi Inaba teased the announcement during a keynote but remained secretive about it. This statement confirms that production has begun on a new IP, but a lack of details suggests that it's far from being officially revealed.

He added that he is not sure if the studio will continue to develop on title per year but, the studio is looking forward to developing new games for its fans. Typically for publisher-owned new IPs, the studio would not be announcing the project without also revealing the publisher. However, they changed their mind and started several partnerships and helped with the development of other games as well. "However, it turns out that only doing that is considerably hard, and so now we take on various work". The flawless chance for a bit of a reveal for this new IP would be E3 2017 if they are planning to show it this year.

The famous developer Platinum Games is known for creating games based on established franchises, and Transformers, Ninja Turtles, The Legend of Korra, and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance are all examples of this. Until then, players can entertain themselves with the studio's shooter Vanquish, which has recently received a PC version.
