Paresh Rawal wants Arundhati Roy tied to Army jeep in Kashmir

The veteran actor took to Twitter on Sunday night to express his views.

It was not known what was the immediate provocation for the tweet which was retweeted and liked over a thousand times.

His exact tweet read, " Instead of tying stone pelter on the army jeep, tie Arundhati Roy!". The video showed a young man tied to the front of an Indian Army jeep to prevent stone pelting.

The comment was regarding a month-old video of Kashmir, which had gone viral on the internet during by polls.

The Geo TV article reported Ms. Roy as saying,"She said India can not achieve its objective in the occupied valley even if its army deployment raises from 7 lakh to 70 lakh, further adding that Kashmiris have remained committed with their anti-India sentiments from many years".

Reacting to the actor-turned-politicians's tweet, AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh on Twitter asked Rawal why not tie the "person who stitched PDP/BJP alliance".

Rawal was referring to the disgusting incident in April this year, when Farroq Ahmed Dar was tied to an army jeep by Major Nitin Gogoi during the Srinagar by-elections.

Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh nearly took 7 hours to outmanoeuvre BJP MP from Ahmedabad East, Paresh Rawal, who on Sunday suggested that Arundhati Roy should have been tied to the jeep in place of the protester.

In the past, Arundhati Roy, the author of God of small things and the ministry of utmost happiness, has been quite critical of the role played by the army in the Valley.
