LeBron James on MVP Snub: 'This League Knows What I Bring'

The reigning Finals MVP scored 30 points on 12-for-18 shooting with seven assists, four rebounds, three blocks and four steals in 33 minutes. Sure he may sit out a few games each season, drawing the inevitable comparisons to MJ who "even played through the flu" and never wanted to come out of a game but come playoff time, look out, because James is on a mission and he will not stop. The Orlando Magic beat them by 47 in the first round of the 1995 post-season.

Unstoppable: LeBron James led the Cavaliers to a big victory over the Celtics.

On Friday night, Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook was named a finalist for the NBA MVP award.

In addition to James' MVP snub, no Cavalier player or coach made the top three for any of the league's other awards.

On June 26, the victor of the award will be announced by league officials.

Thomas finished with just a pair of free throws, missing all six shots from the field.

MVP: Westbrook, Harden and Leonard.

Houston Rockets star James Harden and Washington Wizards star John Wall have qualified to sign new contract extensions this summer after making the All-NBA team on Thursday. He ended with 2,099 points, a Pelicans' single-season franchise scoring record.

And while James had an outstanding regular season - 26.4 points per game, 8.7 assists and 8.6 rebounds per game - his candidacy didn't have the hook that Westbrook or Harden did.Rookie of the Year finalists are Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, Milwaukee Bucks guard Malcolm Brogdon, and 76ers forward Dario Saric. In the last eight seasons, James has won the prestigious honor four times, which ties him for third-most all-time in league history with Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain. The 6-5 guard led the National Basketball Association in free throws made with 746 and ranked third in three-pointers made with 262.

Spoelstra orchestrated an NBA-record turnaround; the Heat went from an 11-30 start to a furious 30-11 finish to reach 41-41. If he's not going to win it, you don't even put him in the top three?

This is the second time in Anthony Davis' career he has been selected to the All-NBA First Team.

Other NBA awards, including Most Valuable Player and Coach of the Year, will be revealed June 26 at the new NBA Awards Show in NY. And the Warriors, with Durant and Green, won 67 games this season compared to just 51 for James' Cavaliers. Davis barely held off Utah's Rudy Gobert for the first-team center spot, finishing with 343 points to Gobert's 339.

But players already considered all-time greats win the hardware, it should mean something extra. If it's Gobert, the Frenchman will be recognized not only for his defensive dominance but also for his growth as an offensive player.

None of the Golden State Warriors roster were included in the first team.
