Spurs' Leonard will not play Game 3 against Warriors

Popovich said Leonard had only shot the past couple of days. "I spoke with Kawhi". "He's not thrilled that he's not playing". Leonard went down just over halfway through that game and his status for Game 3 remains undecided. This could easily be a six or seven-game series with a healthy Leonard. The Warriors are feeling pretty good about themselves after shooting 56.2 percent from the floor in Game 2 while holding the Spurs to 37 percent.

As the Spurs probably would attest, not all losses are created equal. The San Antonio Spurs had a small chance of upsetting the Golden State Warriors before the Western Conference Finals began.

The Spurs will have to do it without star forward Kawhi Leonard, who will miss a second straight game because of his left ankle injury. So she was a person that her dad had season tickets, still does, went to a lot of Spurs games growing up. But in Game 2, with San Antonio in desperate need of a memorable performance from him, Aldridge had only eight points on 4-for-11 shooting. "So we'll see how we come out tonight". "So, believe, confidence, all that stuff, is still there because this is far from over".

"The same way you face every game", Ginobili said.

"We had a bad outing in Game 2", Popovich said. "I think he's got a major responsibility in Game 3 to come out and get something done, whether it's for himself or his teammates". We struggled in multiple ways.

The Spurs were the NBA's top defensive squad, powered by two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year Leonard, who also averaged a career-high 25.5 points.

The team took the day off Wednesday and practiced Thursday. "LaMarcus has to score for us", Popovich told reporters. Leonard is officially listed as questionable, too, for San Antonio. If he doesn't play, I'm obviously on the Warriors by double digits.

Aldridge was everything they needed in the clincher over Houston in the conference semifinals.

Durant left no doubt what he thought about Leonard's availability for Game 3.

"He's a 14-year veteran, grown man with two children", Kevin Durant said. I felt like coming up here to play, experience this environment.

With a win in Game 3, the Warriors would set a franchise record with a five-game road playoff winning streak.

"It's getting better. I've been at practice, just watching things".

Q: Michelle Beadle jokes a good deal about being a Spurs fan. They pose a different threat. "So, it should be a fun matchup".

Jonathon Simmons is expected to start in Leonard's absence. It would be the third straight sweep this postseason for the defending National Basketball Association champions, who also won the last three games of last year's finals.

With the series heading back to Texas, a game 2 scenario won't happen. Golden State responded by erasing a 22-point first quarter deficit at the AT&T Center on March 29 to beat the Spurs 110-98.

Thompson is 6 for 21 over the first two games.
